COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Some fashionable students at MUW put on their best outfits Saturday night to raise funds for a good cause.

Members of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity have sponsored the “Rock the Runway” Fashion Show for the last four years.

The event was held in the Rent Auditorium and the theme of this year’s show is “Fashion Gives Back”.

Clothing was provided by TJ Maxx Department Store, Grace Boutique, Pretty Rebel Boutique and Joe Berry Designs of Atlanta.

“The purpose of it is to educate the college community as well as the general community about the importance of beauty and fashion and how it plays a vital role in today’s society. Each year we try to select a local charity to sponsor and this year it happens to be the American Cancer Society,” says Timothy Hopkins, Graduate Advisor for Phi Beta Sigma.

Phi Beta Sigma is a national organization of predominantly African American men who focus on brotherhood, scholarship and service.
