Scenic Highway 17 Bicentennial Yard Sale begins

MILLPORT, Ala. (WCBI) – It’s sure to be a busy weekend for folks who live along Highway 17 in Alabama.

Hundreds of people are expected to travel along the Mississippi / Alabama border for the Scenic Highway 17 Bicentennial Yard Sale.

Residents who live along the route are encouraged to set up booths on their property or public parking lots and take part in the sale.

“We’ve had several people come through, and then we’ve told everybody that we’ll be back tomorrow, and I think we’ll have a bigger crowd tomorrow,” said participant Kendra Moore.

“It’ll help Pheb’s over here, the small restaurants, and it helps us. You meet people from out of town, and you find our things that you didn’t know,” said participant Jannette Bobo.

The event is set to wrap up on Sunday, October 6th.
