School District Helps Families Impacted by Deadly Fire

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — The Columbus school district is helping local families impacted by a devastating fire that killed a young girl, and injured two others earlier this month.

School officials say they’re collecting donations to help some of the fire victims at Jamestown Apartments.

So far they’ve collected more than $5,800 worth of donations like cash, clothing, household items, and furniture.

Workers say they’ll continue to help serve each of the six families impacted for as long as needed.
