PRESS RELEASE

The West Point Police Department has taken a second suspect into custody in connection with a robbery that occurred in the city last month. Yesterday morning (November 7th) at around 10:00am the U. He is currently being held in the Clay County Detention Center after being charged with armed robbery. His bond has been set at $125,000. Mr. Ivy is scheduled for an initial appearance today in the West Point Municipal Court.

This arrest comes pursuant to an investigation into the October 24, 2016 robbery of the Little Rascals convenience store in West Point. On that date the store’s clerk told officers that two men entered the store to, what she thought was, make a purchase. But upon opening the register to make the transaction one of them displayed a handgun and demanded cash.

They both fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money from the till and the cashier’s personal wallet. Within hours police arrested Nolli Hediria Neal of Memphis, TN and charged him with armed robbery. He remains in custody at the Clay County Detention Center as well.

My hat is off to our Criminal Investigation Division for their diligence in bringing these fugitives to justice. I also thank the U.S. Marshall’s Service for their assistance. They play a vital role for local law enforcement agencies that don’t have the resources or manpower to apprehend suspects who have fled their jurisdictions,” said Chief Tim Brinkley.

According to Chief Brinkley, “This second arrest does not close this case. The investigation continues and detectives are looking for at least one more suspect for questioning”. Anyone with information is asked to call Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers or the West Point Police Department at 494-1244.
