Senator Hyde-Smith visits Golden Triangle, Airbus

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Among the distinguished guests at Airbus, newly appointed Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith makes her first trip to the Golden Triangle since being appointed.

Hyde-Smith says the adjustment to Washington is still ongoing.

She’s only been in the position for three weeks, but she says inheriting the staff of former congressman Thad Cochran has been a blessing.

Hyde-Smith is on both Ag and Appropriations committees, and even though it’s been three weeks she says progress is being made for the good of Mississippi.

“I feel like we’ve been very aggressive the last three weeks but it’s been positive in a very good direction in an administration with a leadership that has the conservative values that we share here in Mississippi,” says Hyde-Smith.

With the upcoming special election in November, Hyde-Smith says her track record as a state legislator will be useful when campaigning to remain a U.S. Senator.
