Senior Day event hosted in Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI)- It’s Senior Day in Monroe County and that means the sheriff’s department’s hosted its annual senior fair.

Seniors from all over the county met with vendors to talk about their health.

They had a chance to get their kidney function tested out and talk with health care providers.

Sheriff Cecil Cantrell says they host the event to let seniors know they care.

“We do this to help our seniors. We feed them lunch, we have all these vendors here that can give them some ideas of how they can improve their help and give them a better life and doing things. You know they get to connect with a lot of people that they wouldn’t any other way,” said Sheriff Cantrell.

Sheriff Cantrell says the event continues to grow year after year.
