Several Arrested In Clay County Drug Roundup

CLAY CO., Miss. (PRESS RELEASE) –   The Clay County Sheriff’s Office initiated a roundup of individuals whom were wanted on indictments that were handed down by the Clay County Grand Jury. Assisted by the West Point Police Department, Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

The following individuals were arrested and charged:

Tevin Nance, age 24, of West Point was charged with Statutory Rape.

Veronica M. Dawson, age 42, of West Point was charged with Simple Assault on a LEO.

Justin Tipton, age 32, of Slate Spring was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent.

Merrie Howard, age 22, of West Point was charged Burglary of Dwelling.

Denise Neely, age 26, of West Point was charged with False Pretense – Bad Check – 1 Ct., Uttering Forgery – 1 Ct.

Jevonte T. Hubbard, age 22, of West Point was charged with Possession of Marijuana.

Jashawon Ross, age 30, of West Point was charged with Aggravated Assault.

Price Ivy Sykes, age 62, of West Point was arrested on a Circuit Court Bench Warrant for Possession of Cocaine.

Sheriff Eddie Scott said this was the initial phase of the roundup and encourages the public to view the most wanted and current warrant list on the Clay County Sheriff Department’s website at www.claysheriffms.org.
