Shooting investigation underway in Webster County

WEBSTER COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- Two people have been shot in Webster County following a six hour gun battle.

The shootout started Wednesday around 11:30 p.m. and came to an end on Snowbottom Road at a mobile home.

Two Webster County deputies responded to the shooting.

The shooter then began to shoot at the deputies as the approached in their vehicle, forcing them to call for back up.

Several agencies responded to the scene.

After six hours, the shooter was shot and flown to Tupelo.

A 15-year-old was also hit in the shooting.

There are no fatalities to report as of now.
