Video: Slain Officer To Be Buried in Starkville

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)- Officer Liquori Tate will be brought back to his hometown of Starkville for burial after his funeral service in Hattiesburg, Saturday.

Tate was gunned down in Hattiesburg, along with his partner, Officer Benjamin Deen.

He will be buried at Fox Cemetery.

Starkville Police Chief Frank Nichols, says his officers will lead the escort when the processional arrives in Starkville. Nichols hopes residents will take part in honoring Tate’s bravery.

“We hope that the citizens will come out and show this young hero that we bid farewell for his job, serving our country,” Nichols said.

The processional will move along Highway 12 and Spring Street.
