Small Business Administration encourages storm victims to apply for disaster loan

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- The deadline to register with U.S. Small Business Administration disaster assistance is fast approaching.

If you were impacted by storms between February 22 through August 23, you have until November 19th to register for assistance.

If you would like to apply in person at the Disaster Recovery Center in Columbus, you can do so before Thursday, October 31.

Businesses and nonprofits from both counties in the disaster declaration and the counties next to them can apply for up to two million dollars in loans.

Homeowners and renters may also qualify for loans with the SBA.

“The name Small Business Administration sometimes confused people; we make loans, not only to businesses and nonprofit organizations. We make loans to homeowners renters. In a time of disaster so for this disaster,” said Public Affairs Specialist Mary Gipson.

To talk with someone face-to-face you can visit the East Columbus Gym. You can also apply online by clicking this link or call (800) 659-2955. You can also call FEMA at (800) 621-3362.
