Standoff Ends At Starkville Apartment

STARKVILLE ( WCBI)  – A Starkville man is jailed following a standoff at a local apartment complex.  Officers answered a call to Pilcher Street after 24 year old Nicholas Monroe threatened his neighbors.

When officers arrived, Monroe barricaded himself inside his apartment with a weapon.  He eventually surrendered without incident and is now charged with trespassing. Monroe was also  served with seven other prior trespassing warrants.    The standoff also led police to lock down Henderson Ward School as a precaution since it is located near Pilcher Street.   Students at the school were never in danger.
