Standoff in Tishomingo County ends peacefully

TISHOMINGO CO, Miss. (WCBI)- Belmont Police and Tishomingo County Deputies were called to Paden on Sunday, after a deputy was checking on a motorist that looked to be broken down on the side of the road.

Sheriff John Daughtery says that driver pulled a rifle from his vehicle prompting an hours long standoff.

It was later learned the driver is a veteran who suffers from PTSD.

The driver was released to his family.

The Tishomingo County Sheriff’s office is still investigating.
