Starkville Aldermen Approve Parks Plan

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) -Starkville has a plan for the future of its Parks and Recreation Department.

At Tuesday night’s meeting the Board of Aldermen unanimously approved a comprehensive master plan that will drive building and maintenance in the city’s parks department for the next year and a half.

The plan will also call for a reorganization of the Parks and recreation department, create a citizen parks advisory board, and update the maintenance operations.

All was not completely agreeable. Ward 1 Alderman Ben Carver made a motion to remove Herman Peters as director of the department over issues with maintenance operations. That motion died.
