Starkville Board of Aldermen passes resolution requiring employees, shoppers to wear masks in stores

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Starkville residents will now have to wear face masks when shopping at stores.

The Board of Alderman approved the resolution in a 5-2 vote Monday.

Employees and shoppers at businesses open to the public will be required to wear masks. Kids under the age of six will not be required to wear one.

The new rule will start tomorrow at 8 a-m and will last until May 11.

The board also voted to continue the city’s curfew to stay in line with the governor’s order.

Curfew is from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. except for essential travel.
