Starkville dedicates new water treatment facility

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – The city of Starkville now has one of the most advanced water treatment systems in the state.

City officials dedicated the newly-upgraded wastewater treatment plant during a special ceremony Thursday.

The upgrade is the city’s first major renovation of the wastewater treatment plant since its construction in 1980.

The $8 million dollar project was funded through a bond issue in 2019 and took two years to complete.

The facility is located on Sand Road.
