Starkville employees choose different way to spend lunch

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Instead of working through lunch, dozens of people in Starkville walked through lunch Wednesday.

Two companies in the Thad Cochran Research and Technology Park hosted “Walk at Lunch Day.”

For two hours, folks could go for a stroll through the park and visit booths to get healthy snacks, nutritional information, and advice from health experts on incorporating healthy habits.

There were also opportunities to win prizes, and join local gyms.

“It’s very close to the university so we get a lot of university folks walking students faculty staff and a lot of folks coming in from Starkville to walk it’s a beautiful park walkway all the way it’s one mile around the loop its perfect for a nice afternoon walk,” Camigan Microsystems employee Ann Johnson

National Walk at Lunch Day is a program of Blue Cross Blue Shield. This is the third year the research park has hosted it.
