STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – It’s not a fire it’s just a drill.
Starkville fire crews were getting in some training Tuesday.
Battling the summer heat and flames this drill was a true test as to what being a firefighter is all about.
Crews met at Fire Station Number Three.
Tuesday’s emphasis was battling blazes on the inside of homes and car fires.
“First of all, it’s continuous training which we need. Also, it’s very hot out here today. It just shows you no matter what time of day it is, no matter what your skills are, if you are a firefighters you have to do this training,” said Starkville Fire Department Chief Charles Yarbrough.
The Lion Group was also there for the training along with NAFCO which supplies turnout gear for the Starkville Fire Department.
