Video: Starkville Students Safe Following School Bus Accident

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Seven Starkville students are safe following a close call on their school bus early Tuesday morning. It was just past 7:30 a.m., when veteran Starkville School District bus driver Susie Gray was attempting to make a left hand turn onto Old Highway 12 in the Longview Community from Highway 12. That’s when witnesses say the driver of a white Ford truck tried to pass the school bus. The truck clipped the front of the bus. And, witnesses tell WCBI-TV the truck skidded off the road and rolled several times. The driver of the truck has been transported to OCH, along with bus driver Gray. Starkville School District Transportation Director Kelvin Gibson says emergency medical personnel checked the students out on the scene, before releasing them. There are no injuries among the 6 middle school and one high school student. The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating.
