Starkville toy giveaway

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)- A Starkville organization is helping out their local community during the holidays.

Saturday afternoon hundreds of toys donated by the black cat organization were given away to local kids.

They call it the Christmas wonderland toy giveaway.

Kids had the opportunity to have their face painted, listen to music, and take a holiday photo.

Kids from ages five-to-twelve go to pick their own toys.

The annual event is held at the Starkville Sportsplex.

“I love to see the kids and the energy. Just to give back to those who don’t have much. Most adults buy their kids present today the kids got to pick out what they wanted something that we hope they would enjoy this Christmas,” said Shaquana Chandler.

Black Cat is a Starkville based organization for women ages 13 and up and emphasizes leadership development.
