Starkville Uncovers Large Scale Drug Operation

PRESS RELEASE

On Tuesday, September 22, 2015 Officers from Starkville Police Department arrested Michael Edward Russell, 21, of Starkville. Officers served Mr. Russell with an arrest warrant for Sale of Schedule II Controlled Substance, at his residence. Upon serving this warrant probable cause was found to obtain a search warrant for the residence.

A search warrant was then issued by Oktibbeha County Justice Court for the search of the residence. With the search of the residence, a large quantity of narcotics were found. These items included: Marijuana, THC Wax, Vyvance Pills, and Cocaine. There was also an undisclosed amount of cash seized. Mr. Russell was charged with the original warrant, Sale of Controlled Substance, with a $10,000 bond. He was also charged with two counts of Possession of Schedule II Controlled substance ($20,000 bond), and Felony Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute ($30,000 bond). Total bond on all counts was $60,000.
