Starkville Woman Jailed In Connection With Early July Shooting

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A Starkville woman is arrested on a felony warrant is issued for her involvement in a shooting.

27-year-old Portia Manning was arrested by the Starkville Police Department with help from the U.S. Marshal Task Force.

The felony warrant was issued for a July 8 aggravated assault that happened at an apartment complex on Everglad Avenue.

Manning is also charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, disorderly conduct, and possession of marijuana.

She remains in the Oktibbeha County Jail with a bond of over $33,000 thousand, which includes a prior bond for carrying a concealed weapon and violating her probation.

Her next court appearance is scheduled for Monday, August 21, at 6:00 PM.
