State Trooper Narrowly Escapes Injury

NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WCBI)—A state trooper narrowly escaped injuries Saturday night when his vehicle was struck by a distracted driver.

The officer was aiding a stranded pedestrian on I22, near New Albany, when the crash occurred.

The trooper ran out of the way as a F250 Ford collided into his patrol unit.
The driver of the vehicle was cited for careless driving and failing to move over.
There were only minor injuries reported from the crash.
