Staying Hot, Late-Week Rain Chances
MONDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear to partly cloudy with lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Winds stay light pretty much all night long so keep the air conditioning and fans blowing.
TUESDAY: Another warm and humid day is on tap with highs mainly in the lower 90s. Heat indices should generally be in the 94-98 range. While a stray shower/storm can’t be ruled out we’re going to keep the forecast dry.
TUESDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy, warm, and muggy. Look for lows around 70.
WEDNESDAY: We’re going to continue with the hot and humid weather pattern. Rain chances are slim to none as highs climb back into the lower 90s.
THURSDAY-FRIDAY: There is a 20-30% chance of showers and storms during this time as the upper level pattern allows a weak front to enter the region. Don’t get too excited for significant moisture but this will be the first real chance of rain in over 2 weeks so anything is welcome. Highs should dip back into the upper 80s to around 90.
WEEKEND: Rain chances will stay pretty low and that bodes well for the NCAA baseball regionals that will take place in Starkville and Oxford. Hopefully we can have a weekend of baseball and outdoor events with no inclement weather. Highs should be around 90 with lows in the upper 60s to around 70.
