Stores are getting ready for game day

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI)- With the big game Sunday, people are getting ready to party. And the work started early.

Local grocery stores said customers are out stocking up for the essentials they will need.

Palmer’s Shopper’s Value Foods in Tupelo has seen there fair share of big games.

They’ve prepared by stocking up on hamburgers, chips, and adult beverages.

And manager Johnny Jones said Sunday won’t be slow either.

“Superbowl Sunday is very similar to Thanksgiving. It’s a food day. It’s going to be wide open all day from the moment we open till kickoff and then once kickoff hits it’s going to be dead, said Jones.

Local restaurants like Mugshots Bar and Grill in Tupelo are expected to be busy because they offer big screen TVs where people can gather for food and beverages and watch the game.
