Storms Continue Through Fathers Day Weekend

TONIGHT: Scattered thunderstorms remain possible, mainly before midnight. Some storms could be strong to severe with gusty winds and frequent lightning. Look for lows in the upper 60s and low 70s.

FRIDAY: High temperatures return to the upper 80s and low 90s, and more hit or miss storms are possible in the afternoon.  It will feel hot with the heat index climbing into the upper 90s.

WEEKEND: Highs in the low 90s both Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Afternoon pop-up showers and storms possible each day. Heat index values will reach the upper 90s, with some spots hitting 100°+.

NEXT WEEK: More scattered showers and storms on Monday with highs in the upper 80s. A weak front moves through Monday, and hopefully some drier air filters in behind that. High temperatures will remain in the low 90s Tuesday and Wednesday, but due to the drier air expected to filter in, we’ll keep very low chances for some remnant showers on Tuesday, particularly in the morning, and we will keep rain chances off the board for Wednesday.  They’ll creep back in Thursday and heading towards the following weekend as gulf moisture returns.
