Strong Storms Possible Tonight
TODAY: Scattered showers and perhaps a thunderstorm during the day, then widespread thunderstorms overnight. Some storms overnight could be strong to severe, especially along and south of the US-82 corridor. The main threat with these storms is strong straight line winds, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Highs in the upper 60s and low 70s. Lows in the mid 40s.
SATURDAY: Much cooler behind the cold front. Highs only make it into the low 50s. A few lingering showers will be possible, mainly in the morning, but it does not look like an all day washout. Overnight into early Sunday morning, a freeze will be possible with widespread frost. Lows in the low 30s.
SUNDAY: Back into the 60s on Sunday, with lows in the 50s Sunday night.
NEXT WEEK: Outside of an isolated shower on Monday, we should stay dry through the work-week next week. We will be on the warmer side of things with highs in the 60s and 70s Monday through Wednesday, with 80s possible by Thursday. It appears our next good chance of showers and storms will come next weekend. At this point, it’s too early to say for sure whether those storms would carry a severe weather threat, but it’s something we will need to watch closely.
