Strong Storms Possible Tuesday Night.
TODAY: Some peeks of sunshine today. An isolated shower will be possible in far northern Mississippi. 90% or more of the area stays dry. Highs in the upper 70s. We remain partly clear overnight, with lows in the 60s.
TUESDAY: Based on the latest high-resolution model runs (click above image), a few scattered showers and storms will be possible in the afternoon, with a line of thunderstorms developing to our west and moving through our area in the evening and overnight hours. Some of these storms could be strong to severe, capable of producing strong straight line winds, some hail, and perhaps an isolated tornado. Be sure to have a way to receive warning information Tuesday night as you sleep. Our high temperatures on Tuesday will approach 80° in some spots, with overnight lows dipping into the 40s.
WED/THU: A few widely scattered showers will be possible Wednesday morning, then drying out by afternoon. Sunny weather on tap for Thursday. Highs in the 60s both days, with lows in the mid 30s Wednesday night and mid 40s Thursday night.
FRIDAY: Highs in the upper 60s and low 70s under mostly cloudy skies. An isolated shower or two will be possible. Lows in the mid 50s.
SATURDAY: Highs in the 60s and 70s with showers and thunderstorms likely. For now, it’s too early to say whether this system poses a severe weather threat, but the early indications are this system will not be as strong as the one on Tuesday. Overnight lows will drop to the 40s.
SUNDAY: A few scattered showers will be possible. Otherwise mostly cloudy, with highs in the 70s.
