Student suspended after doctoring photo with KKK hoods

HARTSELLE, Ala. (AP) – An Alabama high school student has been suspended after allegedly doctoring a photograph to make it appear classmates were wearing Ku Klux Klan hoods.

Hartselle’s school superintendent, Dee Dee Jones, tells the Decatur Daily she learned about the photo Tuesday night and took immediate action against a student at Hartselle High School.

Officials haven’t released the student’s name. But Jones says police will assist in an investigation of the incident, and she’s promising the highest level of punishment possible.

The paper reports the photo was shared on social media after the first day of classes. Jones says adults who have no connection to the school system apparently posted the image online.
