Students Learn Healthy Habits From Civic Group

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The Junior Auxiliary of Columbus encourages local students to get fit for life.

The group took its “Fit and Fabulous Forever” project to West Lowndes Elementary School Friday.

Members set up stations to demonstrate activities that taught students about making healthy food choices and paying attention to the ingredients in their food.

The program also focused on ways to make exercise fun like playing at local parks.

JA members say they want to make health and fitness a lifestyle for these young students.

The program targets fourth, fifth, and sixth graders.
