Sturgis South Rally Hits Another Bump in the Road

STURGIS, Miss. (WCBI) – Don’t kick start your engines just yet.

After a 2 year hiatus, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally hit another big bump in the road.

The Sturgis South Bike Rally Board has come up with their proposal for this year’s event.

Tuesday 2-12) night, the Board of Alderman had a workshop scheduled to create a counter proposal.

Here’s the problem, only 2 of the 5 Aldermen, and Mayor Walter Turner, showed up.

The city is trying to strike a healthy balance between expenses and revenues.

Things like security and trash collection can add up, but Mayor Turner says the festival never lost money.

The Festival was tentatively scheduled for August 16th-18th, but don’t hold your breath.
