More Summer Weather, but Change is Around the Corner…

TONIGHT: A few showers or storms will persist through the evening.  These showers or storms are possible area-wide, so just keep an eye to the sky if you have any outdoor plans this evening. It will be another warm and muggy evening as temperatures fall into the low 70s and upper 60s by morning.

SUNDAY: Another hot and muggy day with the chance for a few isolated showers and storms through the day.  Look for highs near 90° with light winds from the east.

MONDAY – WEDNESDAY: Look for temperatures to remain in the upper 80s and low 90s with a chance for an afternoon shower and storm.  It will stay muggy as summer holds on.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: A weak cold front will push through.  While it won’t give us much if any chance for showers or storms, it will bring in some drier air behind it in time for Thursday/Friday.

THURSDAY – FRIDAY: Look for highs in the mid 80s with lows down into the 60s.  It will feel much more comfortable as a north wind will help to pull in drier air.  By Friday Night, a second cold front will approach the area reinforcing even more cooler and drier air into the weekend.

NEXT WEEKEND: You’ll like the way next weekend looks.  We’ll keep 80 on the board for Saturday, but it could be even cooler than that.  As we get closer, we’ll fine-tune those numbers and adjust them.  All in all, it will be the first true weekend of fall, so have your bonfire and hayride plans ready!

HURRICANE MARIA: As of Saturday Night, Hurricane Maria was a category 3 storm moving to the north.  It is possible that it could impact the Mid-Atlantic bringing in rain, wind, high surf and more.  It’s likely by Monday Morning we’ll have a much better understanding on the track of this storm.  Presently, the National Hurricane Center keeps the eye of the storm off the coast, but it seems likely that it will still have some inland impacts including rain and gusty winds.
