SUMMARY: A late-summer heat wave will continue across our region over the next week. Highs are going to be well above normal with rain chances remaining quite low.

FRIDAY EVENING/NIGHT: High school football weather will be great again with temperatures falling from the 80s at kickoff into the 70s. Lows will be in the low 70s.

SATURDAY-SUNDAY: Mostly sunny conditions look to hang on all weekend. Highs should be in the low to mid 90s with heat indices at times over 100. You’ll definitely need plenty of water and sunscreen if you’ll be out in the sun, especially during the college football games on Saturday afternoon.

NEXT WEEK: Partly cloudy skies and hot weather continues. Highs in the mid 90s are possible a week long. There may be a few isolated showers and storms around at times during the heating of the day but no widespread relief from the heat is expected at this time.
