Suspect Identified In Hospital Bomb Threat

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A man, already convicted of one crime, could be facing more charges after a bomb threat at Baptist Golden Triangle.

The Mississippi Department of Corrections says Michael Sparks is accused of calling in the threat to the Columbus hospital this past Friday.

He is a probationer at the Greenwood Restitution Center.

The 25 year-old was convicted of nonresidential burglary in December of 2012 in Lowndes County and given five years probation.

An FBI spokesperson tells WCBI no federal charges have been filed in the investigation, at this time.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office is assisting the FBI in the case.
