Suspect Rams Police Cruiser During Pontotoc County Pursuit

PONTOTOC COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Georgia man faces charges after a hot pursuit in Pontotoc County ends in a crash, sending the suspect and a police officer in the hospital.

Timothy Joseph Quarterman, 23, of Savannah, Georgia was arrested Monday, January 15, for Aggravated Assault and Felony Fleeing.

According to Sargent Ray Hall, troopers tried to stop Quarterman for speeding on MS 278.

The 23-year-old then fled onto MS 9, US 278, and MS 15.

Later, Quarterman reportedly rammed his truck into a Pontotoc Police cruiser, ending the pursuit.

The suspect and officer were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Quarterman’s bond is set at $25,000.
