“Teddy Bear Day”

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Bring teddy bears. Get an adjustment.

Saum Chiropractic Clinic in Columbus is hosting its annual “Teddy Bear Day.” Patients can bring in stuffed animals in exchange for treatment all day today, December 12.

This is the 25th year the clinic has collected the huggable toys to be donated to the police and fire departments.

Officers and firemen can use them when they respond to calls.

“We know they do comfort people whether it be an adult or children whenever there’s any kind of…whether it be domestic abuse situation or if they come up on a car accident; and we also last year started splitting them with fire department so they have them as ride-alongs in their vehicles as well,” says Dr. Shana Thomas.

The clinic collected more than 300 teddy bears last year. They hope to surpass that this year.
