Police LightsLee County, Miss. (WCBI) – Three Georgians find themselves in a North Mississippi jail after being busted with meth.

Jeffery Burt Fordham, 36, Bill Joe Ashley Jr., 32,  and Tiffany Marie Midkiff, 30, made their initial court appearances Wednesday afternoon and are facing possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute charges.

Tupelo police received information that the trio had drugs in their two hotel rooms. Officers raided the room and then the accused meth dealers pulled up in the parking lot, where they were arrested. Fordham was also charged with the possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

All three are from the Carrollton, Georgia area. Now, investigators want to know why they were meeting in Tupelo.

Tupelo Police Chief Bart Aguirre believes that there is more to this case than what meets the eye.

“They could probably have more information about other people that’s also involved. They didn’t come here just to smoke a little dope or whatever. They came here to deal. And so, it’s the other people that are involved also that we’re interested in,” said Aguirre.

Officers seized 17 ounces of meth, a gun, and more than 75 hundred dollars in cash.
