Toddler Dies In Saturday Crash

FATAL ACCIDENTLEE COUNTY ( MHP PRESS RELEASE) – The Mississippi Highway Patrol is still investigating a two-vehicle crash in Lee County that claimed the life of a toddler. Troopers responded to the scene at approximately 10:15 pm, Saturday, May 21st, in Lee County on MS 245, near County Road 130.

 

Upon arriving it appeared Cosby E Coleman, 23, of Tupelo, was traveling north on MS 245, in a 2003 Toyota Camry, when he apparently crossed over the center line and collided into a south bound 1998 Ford F150, driven by Robert Heard, 59, of Okolona.

 

Coleman and Heard were both transported to NMMC with moderate injuries.

 

A passenger in Heard’s vehicle was transported to NMMC with moderate injuries.

 

There were two passengers in Coleman’s vehicle. Quashanna Foster, 22, of Tupelo, was transported to NMMC with moderate injuries. Two-year old, Aunes Coleman, of Tupelo, was transported to NMMC with life threatening injuries. The child was later airlifted to a children’s hospital in Memphis and later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
