Tupelo Car Chase Arrest

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – A Tupelo man is accused of leading police on a chase, after crashing into four parked cars, Thanksgiving day.

Tupelo Police Chief Bart Aguirre says it was a miracle no one was hurt, after investigators were called out to Lumpkin Avenue and Kincannon Street.

When officers arrived, a man driving a 2002 Dodge Dakota pick-up truck, fled the scene.

According to police, that man was William Trimble.

After a short chase from Lumpkin to Main Street, Trimble allegedly jumped out of the truck and fled on foot.

Investigators quickly caught Trimble, who say he resisted both officers and emergency medical personnel.

They later learned that Trimble was a convicted felon and had a firearm.

He was charged with Possession of a Firearm, Failure to Yield to Blue Lights, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, DUI, and Resisting Arrest.

Trimble’s bond is set at $7,500.
