Tupelo Civil Rights March

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI)-

Another march took place in downtown Tupelo demanding Justice for Ronnie Shumpert.

This one was organized by Standup Mississippi.

It is joining other black organizations calling for a federal investigation into the case, and for the creation of a citizens review board to provide oversight to the police department.

Ellis Westbrook is the founder of Stand up Mississippi and the organizer of the march.

“I’m 100-percent sure that it needs to be investigated at a larger longer extent to get all the evidence out on the table.” said Westbrook.
