Tupelo Fight Leads To Gunshot

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – At approximately 2:00 p.m. today, November 30, Tupelo Police responded to the Shine Time on 842 Strauss in reference to a possible shooting.

Investigation thus far indicates the following:

Two adult males were in a physical fight.

One male struck another male in the head with a handgun and a round was fired.

The male that was struck in head went to ER for treatment, but his medical status is not believed to life threatening or debilitating.

Second male had fled prior to officer arrival.  He has been identified and victim may press misdemeanor charges of simple assault and discharge of a firearm within city limits if he chooses.
