Tupelo Police Looking For Suspect After Two Arrested

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Tupelo police made a drug arrest Tuesday night after a car tried to out-run police.

Two men in their 30s have been arrested. Police are still looking for a male suspect.

Nicholas Daniels is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance. Lamarcus Waldrop is facing misdemeanor charges, including failure to yield to police.

A car sped away from Tupelo officers Tuesday night around 9 p.m. after an attempted stop near West Main Street.

A passenger got out of a backseat and ran. Police are still trying to track him down.

The car finally stopped on the 1300 block of Ida Street. Officers were able to take the two men in the vehicle into custody.

No one was injured and no property was reported damaged. An undisclosed amount of narcotics and cash were recovered. The investigation is ongoing.
