Tupelo Production House Earns Prestigious Silver Telly Award

TUPELO, Miss. (Press Release) — Tupelo’s Premium Productions, a multi-media production firm, has been awarded one of the country’s highest and most prestigious video production awards, the Silver Telly, joining the ranks of NFL Productions, and Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Productions. The Silver Telly Award is in the Commercial category. Premium also won the Bronze Telly in the Public Service category. Both prizes are for Premium Production’s 2013 production of a promotional video for the Tupelo United Way of Northeast Mississippi.

Premium Productions is owned and operated by Tupelo’s Allen Pegues, a former news videographer-turned-entrepreneur. The Telly Awards, founded in 1978, is the premier award honoring the finest film and video productions, groundbreaking web commercials, videos and films, and outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs. Since its inception, Telly Awards have been presented to some of the country’s most prestigious and recognized production companies, including Telly Hall of Fame inductees; The Discovery Channel, ESPN and Time Warner Cable.

Premium Productions was selected out of nearly 12,000 entries from all 50 states and 5 continents, putting the Tupelo firm in select company with some of the world’s most accomplished production teams. The award particularly recognizes the company for it’s polish and creativity.

“This is truly an honor for our work to be chosen for first place and recognized by the Telly Awards out of all the other participants,” Pegues said. “This project was a team effort and we are very thankful.”

Premium was founded in 2011.

The United Way production was just one of several public service promotional pieces, Premium developed in 2013. Another highlight of the company’s work is a 10-minute promotional video created for the Tupelo Police Department.
