Video: Tupelo Splash Pad Approved

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Some Tupelo residents will have a new place to cool off late this summer.

A splash pad will be built at Rob Leake City Park, near the Joyner neighborhood.

The Tupelo city council approved the $550,000 bid on Tuesday night.

A pavilion renovation is included in the project.

At first, costs came in higher than expected.

Mayor Jason Shelton and some council members supported the higher price because it would help revitalize the area after last year’s tornado.
