Tupelo self storage unit damaged in late morning fire

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – The Tupelo Fire Department is investigating a late morning storage unit fire.

Sgt. Romiell Dunlap said the department received a call around 11:20 a.m. Saturday from Attic Self Storage on Cliff Gookin Blvd.

Dunlap said two units are most likely a total loss while four to six other units have smoke damage.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time, but firefighters said the blaze may have been started by outdoor equipment like lawnmowers or weedeaters.

No one was injured in the fire.

The incident is still under investigation.
