Two Being Held In Aftermath Of Tupelo Pursuit

TUPELO (WCBI) -Two people are being held but not charged at this time in connection with a police pursuit in Tupelo.

This is what’s left of the S-U-V the fleeing suspects hit head on around 11:30 Friday night.

Tupelo officers spotted a car driving with no lights and tried to pull it over. That’s when it weaved through a neighborhood before getting on West Main and fleeing. Police chased the car from near Industrial Street to Maynard before breaking off the pursuit.

The suspects kept running though and collided with this SUV at the West Main and Thomas Intersection.

Luckily the SUV driver was not seriously injured. The people in the fleeing car ran off but officers tracked them down Saturday afternoon and put two people into custody on unrelated charges while the investigation into the wreck continues. No names are being released at this time.
