Video: Two Injured In Lowndes County Motorcycle Crash

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – One person is airlifted from the scene of a motorcycle crash in Lowndes County on Friday afternoon.

The accident happened on Highway 12, just north of Military Chapel church, about 3:30 PM.

Mississippi Highway Patrol MSgt. Criss Turnipseed says an eastbound car driven by John Booth, 70, was turning left into a driveway when the westbound motorcycle collided with the vehicle.

The driver of the motorcycle, 64 year-old Larry Harris, was airlifted to Tupelo with serious injuries.

A passenger in the car, 66 year-old Peggy Booth, was taken to Baptist Golden Triangle with minor injuries.

Traffic was backed up for at least half a mile in both directions, while crews cleared the scene.

MHP is investigating the incident.
