Two Northeast Mississippi airports awarded grant money for improvements

NORTHEAST MISSISSIPPI (WCBI) – Two Northeast Mississippi airports will be receiving money for improvements.

Senators Roger Wicker and Cindy Hyde-Smith announced Wednesday Tupelo Regional Aiport will receive $741,000 to buy an aircraft rescue and firefighting vehicle.

George M. Bryan Aiport in Starkville will receive $356,749 to acquire land for approaches.

The money comes from an overall 7.99 million grant that was awarded to four Mississippi airports.

The grant was given by the U.S. Department of Transportation on behalf of the Federal Aviation Administration.
