COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The United Way of Lowndes County kicks off another fundraising campaign.

Local businesses and other donors attended the luncheon at Lion Hills Tuesday afternoon.

Money raised during the campaign helps the United Way fund the agencies that provide a wide variety of services, including education, disaster relief, health, and crisis intervention.

More than 22,000 people in Lowndes County have benefited from services of United Way agencies already this year.

MUW president Dr. Jim Borsig was the keynote speaker for the event.
