Unofficial results show two sheriff upsets
MISSISSIPPI (WCBI) – Two long-time Mississippi sheriffs have been upset in the primary elections according to unofficial results.
Kevin Crook led the Monroe County Sheriff race with 4,257, or 52% of votes. Cantrell trailed with 3,252, or 39% of votes in the Democratic primary.
Crook will face Republican Andy Hood in the general elections.
Noxubee County sheriff challenger Tommy Roby led the race with 2,243, or 62% of votes. Noxubee County Sheriff Terry Grassaree trailed behind Roby with 1,177, or 34% of votes in the Democratic primary.
All of these results are unofficial, pending absentee ballots and affidavits.
