HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) – A man is facing charges in connection with reported gunshots being fired near Camp Shelby, where soldiers are training.

61 year-old Alfred Baria claims he can make his truck backfire on command and he did not shoot at soldiers.

Right now, Baria is charged with four counts of disturbing the peace and two counts of a convicted felon in possession of a weapon.

Baria was stopped earlier today after law enforcement heard his truck backfire.

Investigators are still trying to determine if a gun was actually fired.
